English Tea

The English Tea Tent is a whimsical wonderland of child-like delights, inspired by a penchant for taking high tea and a childhood spent reading Alice in Wonderland.

Designed by Katherine and her sister Rosemary Hudson, the ceiling of each of the 30ft x 30ft interiors contains over 200 cotton doileys meticulously sewn on, and each of the 6 individual wall panels depict a scene or character from the book. Look for the rabbit in the key-hole, the cup-cakes tessalating into roses, the lobster with a bow in his tail, a pink-wafer cake stand and the slightly tongue-in-cheek teapot pouring lashings of ‘leg’ tea into teacups.

This was a popular festival tent at Bestival and Camp Bestival, being used to house many different festival activities each time, last year saw The English Tea Tent used as a knitting tent.

The innocent patterns and pretty bunting make this the perfect marquee for a quirky vintage garden party, a unique festival wedding or a lucky child’s birthday party.

Accessorise with fun decorative biscuit cushions which come in Nice, Custard Cream and Bourbon styles, or dress it up with your best china tea set, strings of pearls and bowls of old fashioned sweets.
